WoW Forever Shaman

Elemental, Enhancement, Restoration · Alliance and Horde

All three Shaman capstones are new, which is only true of Shaman and Warlock. Lava Burst caps Elemental and deals 20% more damage while your Flame Shock is on the target. Riptide caps Restoration. Rage of the Farseer caps Enhancement, which is rebuilt around the removal of its weapon talents. Spirit Weapons now modulates threat depending on whether Rockbiter is active, and Water Shield restores mana when you are hit or a heal crits, so it competes with the other shields rather than sitting idle.

What changes for Shaman

Dwarf Shamans are new to the Alliance and the Skyborne can be Shamans on the Horde side. Shaman is no longer Horde-only outside the Draenei timeline, and Alliance raids get Windfury Totem at launch.

Two-Handed Axes and Maces and Weapon Mastery are removed, and Expertise replaces weapon skill. No talent ties an Enhancement Shaman to a weapon type any more, so the sim can pick the best weapon.

Simmed reference builds

Each saved board sims a fixed Shaman reference character at level 60, against a raid-boss target for two minutes, full raid buffs and consumables, no world buffs. The DPS is the spec's trinket board baseline (both trinket slots empty) and the rank is its place on the Forever DPS tier list.

Engine build 931ae38, simmed 1 October 2026. Boards are re-simmed after engine updates.

Dwarf, Orc, Tauren, Troll, Skyborne (Horde). Dwarf Shaman is new to Forever. The Skyborne can be Shamans on the Horde side. Racials are rebuilt so no two races share a passive, and weapon skill racials are gone. Race choice now changes your DPS in the sim.

What the Shaman sim has to model

Beyond the engine-wide changes (unified hit and crit, Expertise, bonus healing as spell damage, periodic crits), these are the Shaman-specific pieces the Forever engine has to get right.

  • Lava Burst in the Elemental rotation with a new capstone effect.
  • An Enhancement build with no weapon-type talents and Expertise instead of weapon skill.
  • Bonus healing counting toward spell damage for Elemental gearing.

Is there a WoW Forever Shaman sim?

Yes, at /wow-forever/sim. Export your character with the MythicSim addon, paste it and you get a DPS number for your Shaman on the new talent trees. It runs on a MythicSim-maintained fork of ElliotWood/Forever, built on wowsims/classic (both MIT licensed).

No. Install MythicSim addon 0.3.0 or newer in Forever, click its minimap button or type /msim, then paste the JSON on the Forever sim page. Retail /simc strings use a different format.
