Methodology
Baseline profile
SimulationCraft's default Retribution Paladin profile at current-season item level, with every other slot geared and enchanted. Gems, consumables and talents follow SimC's latest defaults.
Iteration count
50,000 iterations per enchant, which keeps the error on each result under 0.5%.
DPS gain
Each row is the DPS gained over leaving that slot unenchanted, with the rest of the gear unchanged. Enchants are simmed on Cleave (3 targets, 5 minutes), so weapon procs that hit several targets rank higher than they would on a single boss.
Source patch
SimulationCraft af05b9e2e1e50ad5b50f255d7189161dcc058554, client build 12.1.0.69933, generated Oct 11, 2026. Re-run every Sunday after the weekly SimC update.
Weapon + off-hand pair
Dual-wield specs also get a Weapon + Off-hand panel that sims each main-hand and off-hand pair together, so it catches diminishing returns when both weapons stack the same stat. The separate Weapon and Off-hand panels are there if you're only changing one.
Not included
Embellishments, jewelcrafting socket-stat variants, and tier set interactions outside the slot being tested.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best weapon enchant for Retribution Paladin in Patch 12.1.0.69933?
Rite Of The Hashey, at +1.37% DPS over an unenchanted weapon in Patch 12.1.0.69933. The panels above rank every current enchant for each Retribution Paladin slot.
What are the top 3 enchants for Retribution Paladin?
Top picks for Retribution Paladin in Patch 12.1.0.69933: weapon: Rite Of The Hashey (+1.37%); cloak: Whisper Of Silken Leech (+0.04%); boots: Enchant Boots Shaladrassils Roots (+0.05%). Gains are over leaving the slot unenchanted.
What is the best cloak enchant for Retribution Paladin?
The top cloak enchant for Retribution Paladin in Patch 12.1.0.69933 is Whisper Of Silken Leech, gaining +0.04% DPS over an unenchanted cloak. For comparison, the top boots enchant (Enchant Boots Shaladrassils Roots) gains +0.05% on the same baseline.
Should every Retribution use the same enchants?
Mostly, yes. Each ranking changes one slot and keeps the rest of the gear fixed, so the top enchant in each slot is a safe default (for chest, currently Mark Of The Worldsoul at +1.23%). It can change if your gear already stacks a lot of one secondary stat, since secondary stats have diminishing returns, or if your tier set rewards a different stat. In those cases, sim your own character.
Why is the weapon + off-hand pair ranked separately?
The Weapon and Off-hand panels rank each enchant on its own, which misses the diminishing returns when both weapons stack the same stat. The paired panel only appears for dual-wield specs, so Retribution Paladin doesn't have one.
How often is the Retribution Paladin enchant leaderboard updated?
Every Sunday, after the weekly SimulationCraft update. The methodology section shows the SimC build and date the current numbers come from.
Are these results from real character data or theorycrafted?
They're SimulationCraft sims. Every enchant is simmed on the same default Paladin profile and the page shows how much DPS it adds. Your own gear can shift the order a bit; the sim form above ranks upgrades on your character.
