What this is

Each board starts from the top-rated Mythic+ characters for the spec, pulls their current gear, gems, enchants and talents from Blizzard, and runs every one through the same SimulationCraft profile. The order on the board is by simmed DPS.

Rotation, buffs and fight length are the same for everyone, so the gap between two players comes down to their gear, gems, enchants and hero talents. Boss mechanics, group comp and how well someone actually plays aren't part of it.

Methodology

Source: Top characters from a public Mythic+ activity leaderboard. Each one's equipment, gems, enchants, and talents are re-fetched from Blizzard's public Game Data API so the simmed gear matches the live armoury, including bonus IDs.
Sim: SimulationCraft, 5,000 iterations per character, run twice: single-target Patchwerk and CleaveAdd. Default consumables per spec are injected so equal gear means equal buffs.
Baseline: Every character in a spec runs SimC's default rotation (APL) for that spec, so differences come from their gear and talents.
Not included: Boss mechanics, group composition, and how well the player actually plays.

Frequently asked questions

How are these top players ranked?

The top Mythic+ characters for each spec come from the leaderboard. Each one's live gear, gems, enchants and talents are fetched from Blizzard's public Game Data API, and every character is simmed in SimulationCraft on the same baseline. The DPS number is the mean of 5,000 iterations.

Is this real raid or M+ DPS?

No. Everyone gets the same rotation, buffs and fight length in the sim, so the number reflects their gear, gems, enchants and hero talents. M+ rating only decides who makes the list.

Single-target or cleave?

Both. Every character is simmed on a single-target Patchwerk fight and a CleaveAdd fight, and the board shows both numbers.

How often is the board updated?

Weekly, after the SimC update and a fresh snapshot of the M+ leaderboard. Each spec board shows the patch and SimC build it used.

Can I compare two players head to head?

Yes. On any spec board, select two rows and open the compare. You get the DPS gap plus a slot-by-slot gear diff and a talent diff.

Can I sim my own character against them?
