Methodology

Ranking

A dungeon ranks by the number of slots where its drop is the best-in-slot item (rings and trinkets count two), then by drops in the top five of any slot, then by summed score.

Item scoring

Stat items are scored by the spec's simmed stat weights at the Myth 6/6 ceiling; trinkets carry their simmed DPS gain from the weekly trinket leaderboard. See the Elemental best-in-slot board.

Not included

What you already own, on-use and proc effects outside the trinket slot, set bonuses, and the item level difference between the vault and end-of-dungeon loot.

Frequently asked questions

Which dungeon should Elemental Shaman farm in Patch 12.1.0.69933?

Altar of Fangs: 2 best-in-slot drops and 5 items in a top five for Elemental Shaman on single target, the most of the eight Season 2 dungeons.

How do all eight dungeons rank for Elemental?

Altar of Fangs (2), Temple of Sethraliss (1), Voidscar Arena (1), The Blinding Vale (1), Ruby Life Pools (1), Den of Nalorakk (0), Murder Row (0), Kings' Rest (0). The number is best-in-slot drops for the spec.

Which dungeons have nothing for Elemental?

Every Season 2 dungeon drops at least one top-five item for the spec.

How are the upgrades counted?

Every current-season item is ranked within its slot, stat items by the spec's simmed stat weights and trinkets by the simmed trinket leaderboard. A dungeon counts one for each slot where it holds the best item and one for each drop in a top five.

Should I raid instead?

The comparison block shows how many best-in-slot pieces the raid and crafted gear hold. Tier pieces always come from the raid, so it usually leads; the dungeon ranking is for the slots it does not cover.

How often is this updated?

Every Sunday after the weekly SimulationCraft update, when the stat weights and trinket boards are re-simmed.
