Common questions
What do I paste?
The text the MythicSim addon gives you in a World of Warcraft: Forever client: click its minimap button or type /msim, then copy. It's a JSON document with your class, race, talents, professions and equipped gear. The retail /simc addon doesn't exist for Forever. A paste in WoWSims Exporter format also works, though that addon doesn't load in the Forever client.
Where do I get the MythicSim addon?
On CurseForge, where it's called MythicSim - Forever Sim Exporter: install it from the CurseForge app, or from curseforge.com/wow/addons/mythicsim-forever-sim-exporter. You can also download the zip from the how-to panel on this page and unzip it into Interface/AddOns of your Forever client. It's free and works in every game language. If an export or a sim looks wrong, use Report a problem in the footer or post in the MythicSim Discord.
Can I sim without the addon?
Yes. Choose Build a character, pick a class and spec, then change race and talents in the talent calculator. It starts from the spec's tier list reference build (dungeon and crafted gear, both trinket slots empty), so the reference talents give you the tier list number and any change you make is measured against it. Open the gear list to swap any slot: search the Forever item database by name or item ID, trinkets included. A new item keeps the slot's enchant when it can hold it. Best Gear works on a built character too, comparing items you look up.
Which specs can be simmed?
Every DPS and tank tree of the nine Forever classes: Balance, Feral Cat and Feral Bear Druid, Hunter, all three Mage trees, Protection and Retribution Paladin, Shadow Priest, Assassination, Combat and Subtlety Rogue, Elemental and Enhancement Shaman, all three Warlock trees, and DPS and Protection Warrior. The talent tree selects the spec; Feral Druids choose Cat DPS or Bear tank after pasting. Healing trees can't be simmed yet.
Can I change the rotation or fight settings?
Yes. Fight length (1, 2, 3 or 5 minutes) and the number of targets (1 to 5) sit on the form itself. Advanced settings adds a custom fight length, iterations, the spec's other engine rotations or your own, and which raid buffs and consumables apply. It can also add a timeline and stat weights to a Quick Sim.
What does the sim assume?
The same defaults the wowsims Forever web UI uses for your spec: full raid buffs and consumables (no world buffs, since they don't work in Forever raids), the standard rotation for your tree, one raid-boss target and a two minute fight with some variation. The boss is simmed at level 63, three levels above the level 60 cap. The sim doesn't read buffs or consumables from your character.
How accurate is it during the beta?
It isn't final yet. Many Forever talent values were read from BlizzCon demo tooltips at rank one and are still being checked against the beta client, which opened on 17 September 2026, so numbers can shift as fixes land. Every result page shows the engine build it ran on, so you can tell whether a number predates a fix.
Can I compare gear from my bags, or gear I don't have yet?
Yes. Choose Best Gear, then select items from your bags (MythicSim addon 0.3.0 or newer exports them) or add any item by name or item ID with Add an item to compare. Up to six items are compared in every valid combination with your equipped gear, up to 64 gear sets per run. Bag items keep their own enchant and random suffix; an added item takes the enchant of the piece it replaces when it can hold it, and has no random suffix. Added items are saved in your browser for that character. An unsupported equipped item blocks the comparison, because your baseline DPS would be off. There's no Forever Droptimizer yet.
